Every Labyrinth has its Minotaur!
Some of my favorite things in this world are a good story and mazes. The Minotaur of Greek mythos captures both of these perfectly. Its truly a messed upstory. I always feel a bit sorry for poor Asterion (Yep, the Minotaur has a name). Born a cursed monster through no fault of his own and just as trapped in the Labyrinth as his victims. Then he meets his death, betrayed by his own sister and her famous ball of yarn that she gives to Theseus to find his way out of the maze. And for her trouble our classic greek hero drops her off on a random island on his way home to Athens. Part tragedy and part horror story, I love it so much I couldn’t resist making a Minotaur Mitten. Is it ironic using yarn to make a labyrinth when that was the same thing used to defeat it?  
 
This Minotaur mitten knitting pattern is recommended for intermediate knitters familiar with reading charts and stranded colorwork. The pattern is on a downloadable PDF digital file available immediately upon payment and includes instructions and easy to follow design charts.You can knit these mittens in any two contrasting colors in the yarn of your choice. I chose colors that reminded me of greek pottery. The black and clay mittens pictured were knit using sock / fingering weight using US size 0 / 2mm needles for a Women's Medium size. The blue mittens pictured were knit using sport weight yarn and US size 1 / 2.25mm needles for a Men's Large size. You could easily adjust your gauge and yarn to fit using any size needle in between those 2 sizes.
