Did you know that the scientific name for a Giraffe is Giraffa Camelopardis from the ancient greek meaning a big camel with leopard spots?  I guess that's one way to describe a giraffe.  But no matter how you describe them there is nothing else in the world like them.  To wrap up 2024, I decided to make this children's mitten pattern free, because honestly, as goofy as they might be, what child wouldn't want a pair of Giraffe mittens?
 
This pattern uses stranded colorwork, knit in the round. Samples shown were knit in DK weight for a child's large size (or women's small) and sock/fingering weight for a child's medium size.  Using smaller needles would easily make a child's small size.  You can choose any colors you wish, I just tried to keep mine "giraffey" colored.
