Dragonlore can be confusing.  For Christians, Dragons are the embodiment of evil. For Asian cultures, Dragons are the heralds of success and prosperity and symbolize strength and wisdom.  In folklore they can be a seemingly impossible obstacle to overcome, or your greatest protective ally.  Talk about complicated symbolism.
 
My love affair with dragons began way before Game of Thrones.  When I was around 12, I read Dragonflight by Anne McCaffrey and I was hooked.  A world where humans and dragons were able to create a telepathic lifelong bond and they protect everyone by flying off together to battle an alien threat falling from the sky. Sign me up! (Even though in reality I’m terrified of heights and would probably lose bodily function control if I ever met a real dragon.)

Use any 2 contrasting colors in a yarn of your choice, its Dragons, you can't go wrong!
