All of the flowers of tomorrow are in the seeds of today.
I love all flowers but Coneflowers are one of my favorite, especially the big purple ones. Along with sunflowers they are a burst of color in late summer just as other flowers fade. And of course the Bees just go crazy over them. As we hunker down with our hot chocolates and our knitting what better way to await spring than to knit up some colorful flowers on mittens.
This pattern uses stranded colorwork, knit in the round. There is some duplicate stitch for the flower centre and the stem if you chose. Samples shown were knit in sock/fingering weight using US size 0/2 mm needles for a women's medium / teen size. Finished size can be easily changed larger or smaller by adjusting your guage.
