I’d like to be a mermaid,
As pretty as can be,
Sitting on a rock,
In the middle of the sea.
Combing out my hair,
In the golden sun,
And swishing my fine tail,
Oh wouldn’t it be fun!
Ever wonder where mermaid stories come from? They are certainly some of the oldest stories told. They are beautiful, exotic, strong, dangerous , elusive and mysterious. Maybe that's why little girls everywhere (and some big girls too) love and want to be a mermaid? Do they live in Mer-cities or just swim about like dolphins? Are they seaweed covered seals sunning themselves on rocks bedazzling delusional sailors? Are they manatees wearing clever costumes? Are they as real? Well real or not they still capture the imagination today.
With this in mind I designed my Mermaid Mitten pattern - I hope you like her.
